This proprietary
3D file format, similar to but more evolved than NURBS, can represent
most any shape as a single surface. Since the shape is represented
mathematically (parametric) it requires very little space to store.
This format represents the major primitives (i.e. sphere, cube, pyramid)
using simple 2D primitives (i.e. circle, square, triangle), providing
a pure, consistent, intuitive process of shape construction unlike
any other CAD tool. Advanced models can be made by connecting simpler
parts together. This “higher level lowest common denominator”
offers a rate of compression several orders of magnitude smaller than
conventional 3D file formats.
The rendering engine itself is also extremely compact, so small in
fact that it can “piggie-back” on the shape data to allow
the content to be shared without installing any “player”
(i.e. Flash, etc). This breakthrough technology allows animated models
to be transferred via the internet in just seconds, even on dial-up
connections. Another product, the Figment3D SDK allows programmers
to add procedural models to their own programs. Figment3D Enterprises
obtained investor funding for Figment3D in May 2006 and is producing
consumer release version of the editing tool. The
Figment3D surface format combines three discrete, piecewise, bicubic,
Kochanek Bartels surfaces to produce higherlevel, n-dimensional, parametric
swept surfaces.

Shannon Kincaid
Shannon Kincaid has had a love for drawing since
early childhood and resolved at a very young age to teach herself
all she could about art and painting. Since her teens, she has made
her living exclusively by painting and singing. When the opportunity
came for her to study formally, she compressed the four-year curriculum
into three years and graduated Summa Cum Laude receiving a degree
in studio art from Texas Christian University and nomination into
Who’s Who in America’s Colleges and Universities. For
many years, she was the “most sold artist” of the Florence
Art Gallery in Dallas, Tx. She’s been commissioned to paint
portraits of luminaries throughout the country including Micky Mantle,
Mary Kay Ash, Byron Nelson and June Lockhart. Her work is featured
in collections all over the US and Europe. In the early 90’s,
she customized a motorcycle for a Swiss Air magnate and it took “best
in show” out of 2000 entrants. Her work also adorns the walls
and halls of Baylor University Medical Center and a large collection
of her paintings are featured on the gyn/oncology unit. After September
11, 2001, she painted two life size pieces she considers her most
important work, “The New Twin Towers”- a Policeman and
Fireman at Ground Zero. Both have been part of numerous exhibitions
and have now found permanent homes in two NYC museums: The New York
Historical Society and the Fireman’s Museum. Limited edition
prints of this work sold out within days.
Shannon also loves to sing and has a “lovely
contralto.” She has appeared on the Grand Old Opry and has been
featured on various recordings and played small roles on television
and film, as well, including appearances on the series, Dallas.

About the Artist, Catherine Kaulback
Wildlife and beautiful terrain of a rural river
valley filled a childhood memory bank with endless art subjects.
Added cats, dogs, horses, and even a camen (small alligator),
birds, raccoon, snakes, and frogs lived with or visited her
family's home. At the age of eight she bonded with her first
pony, prior to many subsequent equine companions and enriching
experiences. Marriage, two sons, interior design career, travel
and three grandsons preceeded the business of Starring Artworks.
Catherine views relationships between wildlife, pets and people
as "energizing treasure". This is featured in her
watercolor paintings. Along with intricacies of nature that
supply zest, surprise, and/or appeal, Catherine attains meaningful
